Why are we making this change?

At Woolworths, safety is at the core of everything we do. We want to ensure that everyone who interacts with our business - our team, our customers, our suppliers and our contractors - is safe. To further strengthen this commitment and support the work across our network, we are evolving how we manage contractor safety.

● A Commitment to Care: Putting proactive risk management and the well-being of you, our team and our customers at the centre of every task.

● Operational Efficiency: Providing crystal-clear safety requirements and mandatory pre-site inductions so everyone knows what is expected from start to finish.

● Upholding Our Obligations: This shift reinforces our commitment to meeting our safety obligations under the Health & Safety at Work Act (2015), moving from a primarily "reactive" approach to a robust system of continuous check and review.

● A Proven Model: We are adapting a model successfully used in Australia, refined with lessons learned to ensure a smoother, more effective experience specifically built for the New Zealand market.
